Piro Milkani was a storyteller who never tired of giving of himself.
Piro Milkani was one of those rare people who, the more you got to know him, the more respect you had for him. A man for whom it is difficult, almost impossible, to hear a bad word, not because we live in a country where people are lazy with their words, but because he himself never gave anyone any reason for such words.
Unlike many "big names", Piro did not inspire fear, did not leave behind tensions or a shadow of ego. He died as he lived: with simplicity, with wisdom, with grace. Instead of noise, he left beautiful memories, works that will withstand time.
Those who knew him closely speak of a man who inspired not only with his art, but also with his presence. “Your films are beautiful, but you tell them even more beautifully, Piro,” a young screenwriter once told him, and there was a great truth in that sentence: Piro Milkani was a storyteller who never tired of giving of himself.
With his departure, a chapter of an Albania that no longer exists begins and closes: those few people who were not only professionals at work, but also noble in human relationships.
Deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, students and all those who were fortunate enough to share time with a man who was both a people's artist and an aristocrat of the soul. His memory will live long, just like his films, which time cannot erase.
