Democratic Party MP, Ivi Kaso, has announced that he will not run for re-election for the position of Secretary for Legal and Electoral Affairs, ending a 12-year commitment to this function, which he has held for three consecutive terms.
He made the news public through a post on social media, explaining that the decision was made to fully dedicate himself to his duties as a member of parliament, member of the Democratic Party Presidency, and vice-chairman of the Committee for Civic Initiatives, Cooperation and Institutional Oversight.
In his reaction, Kaso expressed his gratitude to the Democrats for the trust and support given over the years in this task, while emphasizing that one of the most important achievements of this period has been the return of the symbols and flag of the Democratic Party.
"After 12 years and 3 consecutive mandates at the helm of the Secretariat for Legal and Electoral Affairs of the Democratic Party, I will not run again for the same position, as I need to fully dedicate myself to the duties of a deputy, member of the Presidency and Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Civic Initiatives, Cooperation, and Institutional Oversight."
During these 12 years, there have been no shortage of challenges and battles. And the most difficult and important battle, that of returning the symbols and flag of the Democratic Party to the democrats, we won! A very big thank you to all the democrats who, with their spirit of resistance and sacrifice, made this historic victory possible in extremely difficult conditions!
I would also like to thank the Party Chairman Prof. Dr. Sali Berisha for the trust he gave me in fulfilling this task, the Secretary General for his support, as well as all the colleagues who trusted me and collaborated with me on this journey.
