The DP's opponent is not Rama, but the change?!

The inertia of the impossibility of the opposition in the last two legislatures has shown not only the weakness of the representation, but also what the public understood well a few days ago, after the agreement of the Electoral Code with the non-disruption of the status quo between them.

The last defeat in Himare has brought a lot of cynicism in the ranks of the Democratic Party, such as those who are under the great shadow of the indisputable chairman Sali Berisha, but also among themselves. The first cracks came from a few statements here and there by members of the DP, the whispers of the impossibility under the leadership of the Leader and the tiresome accusations about Rama, who meanwhile enjoys his summer vacations in the Riviera calmly and undisturbed.

The inertia of the impossibility of the opposition in the last two legislatures has shown not only the weakness of the representation, but also what the public understood well a few days ago, after the agreement of the Electoral Code with the non-disruption of the status quo between them. The Socialist Party, read Edi Rama, has all the political power, while the weakness of the justice system gives endless arguments to the opposition to show how far this power is from expectations. But why does nothing change? Since he has the power of three mandates in the SP.

Whereas in DP they don't want to change or more precisely, they like this kind of situation. The created caste cannot change anything. Although a small group of people are regulars in the weekly protests, which barely fill a few tens, what is understood is that more is being worked on the future lists and that part that will be closed than actually the change that time imposes .

What could be the formula of change?! It is true that the Democratic Party seeks and blames Rama, but they are unable to fundamentally change and influence the change of the electoral system (they had to condition); The DP is closed to new and intellectual streams that can change this force; when they signed for the salaries at the height of anger with the SP people, no one raised their voice, that the number of 140 deputies is already excessive; and after the case of Berisha and Xhaçka and their colleagues, there are very few voices in the parliament for the deputies not to have even an immunity; what is happening in the SP and DP does not promise that they will ever demand the reformation of the Law of the parties itself, which today has badly misused the democracy of our country; not to mention one of the sharpest, the one related to political funding.

Political scientists could add other points, but the fact is that the Democratic Party sees Rama as an opponent and cannot see the mud in which they are sinking the whole country with themselves. It is true that the confrontation with Rama is being made infinitely more difficult by the "modernization" of techniques to win the elections, but the opposition needs a new face and, above all, breath. It is no longer idealism, it is a necessary demand for change.

Once, a man who went through endless ordeals, which cannot be compared to that of this vegetarian caste from the Albanian opposition, wrote: "Politics is the ability to predict what will happen tomorrow, next week, next month and year next. And to have the ability afterwards to explain why it didn't happen." His name was Churchill and he held power when he had the weakest positions and lost it, as well as when he contributed like the rare ones against the fascists, which we... caress now, but also when he believed that he was invincible. Of course, this is not the case of PD, nor the comparison with Rama's character.
