Activist Arbër Lleshi spoke at the 38th protest against the government's decision to allocate a fund of 4 million euros for the organization of Kanye West's concert in Tirana.
In his speech, Lleshi criticized the use of public funds for this activity, claiming that the money should be used for more urgent needs, such as the healthcare system.
"Today you saw and heard that our Prime Minister gave us 4 million euros from the Albanian state reserve fund for a singer who has been banned from concerts across Europe due to his fascist beliefs.
Kanye West, a singer whose song is titled 'Long Live Hitler', today it was revealed that he will receive 4 million euros from the Albanian government's reserve fund to hold a concert and build a stage.
"Who are these people who give 4 million euros to a fascist singer, when in Albania people are dying in hospitals because there is no equipment and no medicine? How is that possible? Where are we here?" he said.
The activist called the financing of the concert with public funds unacceptable, comparing it to the situation in healthcare, where, according to him, there is a lack of equipment and medicines for patients.
