While the opposition continues to wonder whether to deal with content or form, Rama has already won the next round of attention and is thinking about the next trick.
Edi Rama is successfully applying a sophisticated way to dominate the public space. He invents topics, figures and situations that keep politics in motion as a whole, but in fact, directly or indirectly serve his own interests.
The latest example is the appointment of Minister Diella, a virtual creature of the institutions and moreover an innovative phenomenon that no one had heard or thought of, but which is now not only national but also international news. Diella is the topic of social networks but also of the memes of the day. With a single move, Rama shifted the debate from the budget, crime, major issues, unresolved problems and unfulfilled promises, to a surprise issue.
Meanwhile, the opposition, as always, tries to react, but always one or more steps late. It has not yet managed to create its own way to attract the public's attention, except by commenting on what Rama serves. Instead of creating a different agenda, one that has substance and an alternative, the opposition follows in the footsteps of Rama, the media, and worse, Rama and the opposition together in the "traps" that the former creates.
So the trap is always ready. All it takes is a name, a post, a photo, and the entire debate is distracted. While the opposition continues to wonder whether to deal with the content or the form, Rama has already won the next round of attention and is thinking about the next trick.
When the prime minister finds creative ways to divert attention, and the opposition fails to produce any alternative and political vision, the dilemma is no longer who is right, but who plays the game better.
And in this game where Rama invents successful tricks, the opposition fails successfully, repeating its nothingness. It must be admitted that under these conditions Rama is not working to win the 2029 elections, but to find the next surprise and to make 83, 93 mandates.
