A story of sexual harassment, where Sali Berisha turned a deaf ear

The mayor of Kamez did not have a single thorn in his side. Not only did he not resign, not only was he not dismissed by Prime Minister Sali Berisha, but it was Berisha who re-ran him in the local elections of May 2011...

It was the year 2011 when an employee of the Kamëz municipality denounced her mayor in the media because he had been sexually harassing her since 2010 to keep her at work. The lady in question also had SMS as evidence that the mayor sent to her mobile phone, calling her by the nickname "Shamikuqja".

Since she refused to give herself to the mayor, she was removed from her job, beaten by the municipal police officers and threatened in the future. That lady, although alone in this battle with the local and central government, took her case to the State Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination, who archived her case in 2012. She also wrote to the former Speaker of the Assembly , as well as the former organizational secretary of the DP, Noka, but he did not find support from them.

The mayor of Kamez did not have a single thorn in his side. Not only did he not resign, not only was he not dismissed by Prime Minister Sali Berisha, but it was Berisha who re-candidated him in the local elections of May 2011 as well as in the subsequent ones of 2015 where he won and today we have him as a deputy in the Assembly of Albania.

During the socialist government, there were 2 cases where the socialist mayors were caught with sexual affairs. In both cases, Prime Minister Rama acted quickly and dismissed them from office without any equivocation.

I brought to attention these 2 contrasting cases, in order to understand the standard between the two governments, where one side is not impressed by the sexual harassment of the DP representative towards a municipal employee, while the other side, even when the women are not municipal employees, extreme measures are taken against the mayor who abused the trust given.

So these representatives of Reestablishment with Berisha at the head, when they moralize and accuse Prime Minister Rama and the Socialist Party, they should first look at themselves in the mirror to see if they are as honest with their actions as they are with their words.

And, when you of Re-establishment ask for elections as soon as possible in Kukës, I want to ask you a question: Why don't you first set the standard with immediate elections in Kamez?!
