The second serious wound revealed by the trial against Salianj is that the blackmail on justice is still working. SPAK and the Special Court seem not to be on the same wavelength and to the same standard as other courts.
It was finally admitted that there is a plan to use the amnesty to escape the trial of MP Ervin Salianji. The Berisha family portal today accused the socialists of coordinating with the Court of Appeal in Tirana to hold a hearing on March 15, in order not to miss the deadlines set by the amnesty for MP Salianji.
The concern that Berisha's portal now raises is that the holding of a session on March 15, makes it impossible for MP Salianji to benefit from the still unapproved amnesty. The draft of the SP set a deadline for sentences that were reduced or forgiven, to become enforceable until January 31, 2024! Apparently they hoped the amnesty vote would be postponed in hopes of meeting the deadline.
The appeal trial of deputy Ervin Salianji has been postponed for over a year, under the open pressure of the Democratic Party, which in this case, out of shame, is united in the courtroom where Salianji is being tried, protesting his trial.
Ervin Salianji has been sentenced to one year in prison by the Court of First Instance for having staged a video against former Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj regarding the hysteria of his brother who had problems with justice in Italy.
As far as Xhafaj's brother's story was true, justice did its job, but Ervin Salianji invented facts and tried to create the institution of fake news as a political mechanism in Albania.
But the trial against Salianji and especially his delay show two serious wounds of opposition politics in Albania.
The first, which is the most serious, is that they want to institutionalize false facts as a mechanism of political struggle. This will be the end of Albanian politics. Even so, Sali Berisha has raised "in art" the political war with the digital citizen and the invention of sick minds, but at least he leaves the source in the hands of anonymous people.
Ervin Salianji has taken it upon himself to assemble the facts and has tried to use justice with fabricated facts against political opponents.
Therefore, this process should not be seen as simply the punishment of a peripheral deputy, who seeks to make the protagonist sometimes a thug, sometimes a slanderer, and sometimes a strong one. His legal punishment is a standard that must be established in order not to institutionalize false facts as instruments of political war.
The second serious wound revealed by the trial against Salianj is that the blackmail on justice is still working. SPAK and the Special Court seem not to be on the same wavelength and to the same standard as other courts.
The fact that this trial is constantly postponed for trivial reasons, or even worse, the fact that the hall is filled with MPs in solidarity with a fraud, shows that the opposition still does not accept the standard of justice, when it comes to it. She also loves justice like Salianji's videos, against the enemy but not for herself.
And this is one more reason why he should be tried and why this precedent should not be amnestied.
