The time has come for real programs, without add-ons and patches, the time has come for original, not rigged, campaigns.
Fake rallies and gatherings will never bring Berisha to power. Promises and propaganda at fruit and vegetable markets will never bring Berisha to power. Moreover, going to Germany and participating in the CDU congress will never bring Berisha to power. Also, the screams of the Belinds in Tirana and the screams of militants at the doors of Tirana City Hall will never bring Berisha to power.
To take power in a country like Albania in 2025, you must meet several criteria, which are also related to your past as a politician and former ruler. How do you think, Mr. Berisha, that you can come to power again in Albania, after all those accusations, criminal files, or even the blows you have received from within your party? By campaigning like in 1996, 1997, or in 2005? Gone are the days when you reminded the prime minister "you drank whiskey or 100-year-old wine and you are corrupt, you should leave". Gone are the days when you went out in the middle of Tirana and threw flares at the ranks of the police and the world was afraid.
Today is the time for words and kept promises. The time for real programs has come, without additions and patches, the time for original and not rigged campaigns has come. Try to copy a little from Edi Rama, even though you are not lucky enough to resemble him. Change the mentality of your staff and the path you carry behind you, because tomorrow it will be difficult to reunite and reorganize your party. Meetings with the CDU, CUD, or any right-wing party and coalition in Europe do not give victory in Albania, Mr. Berisha. Nor do meetings with any chancellor or even president of the state have the effect they once did, back when Albanians saw them as "saints".
Victory will be given by the work done, the promises fulfilled, the speeches without political preambles or postambles, and people with a civic mentality, stripped of the inferiority or delusional syndrome.
A political grouping such as the party, of course, has clear goals towards power, even if it is newly created. So the Democratic Party, too, does well and has every right, as a political force, to have ambitions towards power. But there are some written and unwritten rules that cannot be ignored.
You cannot come to power as often as you want, when you have "unpaid bills" towards the people and justice behind you. Therefore, I think and believe that no meeting and congress outside the borders of Albania can increase the current DP's chance of coming back to power, as long as its leader is the one who has been and as long as there is no positive reflection within that party about paying off the "unpaid bills" since the time it was in power.
