It is unimaginable that in an aggressive scene, where the protagonist is a deputy against a defenseless citizen, you would raise your voice to avoid touching… the aggressor. And in fact, no one is touching him yet.
MP Nallbati has clashed with a truck driver and was filmed by security cameras as he, together with his brother, stops in front of the truck and attacks the driver. The latter is not called Niko Peleshi and is not even a candidate of any opposing party. He is simply an anonymous driver, beaten up by a MP because he did not give way.
This is not a big news, since Nallbat is known for violent behavior. In his entire political biography there are only episodes of violence. A man usually does more often what he knows how to do best, and Nallbat has found his own way to become known. It is not worth dwelling on him for long.
What is impressive is the attempt to show solidarity with him from other DP MPs. I heard a statement from Gazmend Bardhi accusing Niko Pelesh of interfering with the police to arrest Nallbat's brother. At first I thought they were complaining about why the MP himself was not arrested in flagrante delicto, but only the brother. This would make some sense, because from the footage it is clear that the violence comes from the MP himself. But in fact, they are saying that the brother should not have been arrested either, since he was in the company of an MP. So the situation is even more serious than thought.
It is unimaginable that in an aggressive scene, where the protagonist is a deputy against a defenseless citizen, you would raise your voice to avoid touching… the aggressor. And in fact, no one is touching him yet.
The scene of Nallbat's violence is more than enough for him to be considered a defendant and treated according to the standard with which the case of Arben Ndoja was treated when he raped MP Strazimiri years ago. Moreover, we now have a law on decriminalization.
Perhaps Gazmend Bardhi has a positive experience from the murder in Elbasan, as he did not get a thorn in his side, even though his guard is rotting in prison. But this does not mean that, since he has escaped a criminal proceeding that ended in murder, every DP MP should now be encouraged to beat up citizens in the streets, in the hope that nothing will happen to him.
Moreover, even when trying to justify himself, Nallbat says:
“First of all, I am human.”
Which means, according to him, that beating is a human reflex rather than a function of being an MP. So, he considers it his duty to beat.
Someone needs to explain to him that it is not an obligation to beat up citizens on the street. You may not help them, but it is not necessary to beat them.
Gazmend Bardhi and Ivi Kaso are people who know the laws. That much they can say. Otherwise, we can assume that in every campaign, the DP has a habit: to kill someone in the last week. And maybe this time the person selected for this mission is Nallbat — but we still don't know anything. If so, then he is really behind with the task they have given him.
