When SPAK was created, there was talk of strict rules up to the control of who they would drink coffee with and who they would talk to on the phone. Not a few of these rules took the necks of many prosecutors and judges during the vetting, just for a phone call or a meeting on foot with people who were not even under investigation/trial, and in extreme cases the illegal activity had started years after the events.
Today, there is an inflation of SPAK files, interceptions, conversations, minutes, which have received data.
I believe that this harms the investigation as it lowers the credibility of the seriousness of SPAK, which is leaking information more than water in the garden. But it also creates wrong impressions about events not yet verified.
What impressed me are the recent interceptions in which a police chief named Oltion is implicated. But what is ugly and clearly seems to be a petty revenge of the prosecutor who released the material or of the journalist who published it, the citation of the name of Rebani Jaup. Maybe Mr. Jaupaj is implicated, but until now he has emerged from the wiretapping, only his name has been mentioned between Oltioni and Gjoka. If you read it carefully, nowhere does it appear that he received money or was involved in the network. On the contrary, it turns out to be a regular state employee who has not entered into bargains or uncovered operations. But the speculative titles make an inattentive reader feel that we are dealing with a corrupt state employee.
This definitely gets clicks and gives fuel to the rumours. But meanwhile the collateral effect is devastating. The public's trust in law enforcement is destroyed. The will to work of policemen is destroyed who create the belief that no matter how they work, at the end of the day they will be seen as thieves and accomplices of crime and in this case the alternative is for crime to find it easier to corrupt them. As if the life of a man who has dedicated his life to his profession and who is not at all used to dealing with online bullying is destroyed. Especially in the conditions when the public takes every publication of SPAK as pure gold, it is not surprising that they destroy his career as well.
