Politics without morality is a crime!

The son of Jozefina Topalli, a senior exponent of the Democratic Party of Albania who returned to Parliament as an asset in the fight to overthrow Edi Rama, is getting married neither in the castle of Gjirokastra nor in that of Rozafa, but in the capital of Italy, Rome, in a wedding that according to the media cost 550,000 euros...

In September 2014, Erion Veliaj's wedding in the Gjirokastra castle, which according to news reports at the time cost 110,000 Euros, was discussed at length in the media (mainly opposition), where issues were rightly raised such as: where did he get the money, why is this vanity or lack of discretion necessary for a representative of the government of even the poorest people in Europe.

I remember that Veliaj had just been elected MP for Gjirokastra.

11 years later in September 2025, the son of Jozefina Topalli, a senior exponent of the Democratic Party, returned to Parliament as an asset in the fight to overthrow Edi Rama, gets married neither in the castle of Gjirokastra nor in that of Rozafa, but in the capital of Italy, Rome, in a wedding that, according to the media, cost 550,000 euros.

This vanity in complete lack of discretion can only be justified by:

1) If we accept that under the government of Edi Rama, Albanians are no longer as poor as in 2014. Therefore, even with 5 times more abundance, there was nothing exaggerated at the wedding of the politician's son, or

2) Oppositionist and politician Jozi treats politics and morality separately, never understanding anything about either.

When criticism and the desire to expose and publicize a problem are much greater than the willingness not to repeat it even in a single instance, it is the most common form of dishonesty in politics.

It is true that we must rise up against the government, but we are afraid. Fear not of the government, but of those who will take power. Our fear is a repeat of January 21, where some may leave their bones to bring to power a woman or a man who will spend two million and five hundred thousand euros on the next wedding or vanity, while being killed and massacred in protests, remains poor again.

Fan Noli once advised us that politics without morals is a crime.

This is also the crime that opposition politicians never had the courage to distance themselves from. This is the crime that does not allow them to modernize and renew themselves, risking being reduced to a corpse that does not want to rot!
