The winner is not judged. So says the maxim that is used whenever you have a winner in front of you. Especially when his name is Donald Trump, a man who has passed two impeachment votes in the US legislature, who lost sensationally four years ago without accepting the result, who has been assassinated twice during the campaign, who has gone bankrupt six times as a businessman, who has has held rallies every week in every corner of the USA for eight years, who has promised to be a dictator on his first day as president, who has changed three wives and been convicted of adultery but who fights for the traditional family, who winks at Putin it seems swore at once that he is the most patriotic man you have ever seen, who has threatened deportation for millions of people and defended a vision that scares many. Above all, and here it seems to have won, it promises to fill the food basket and the gas tank of the car for millions of simple American families!
Trump won, Harris lost. America failed to elect a woman president, which in Europe and elsewhere in the world has been something normal for many years. Beyond the gender aspect, this is a major ideological loss for the left in the US and one that will have an impact in other parts of the globe. The America of transgender fanaticism, of environmentalism turned into an end in itself and of some behaviors that over time turned into slanderous clichés, where you could decide to be once a woman and once a man or even "other" was lost. It lost a vision of the very elitist world and was disconnected from the daily needs of Americans struggling to make ends meet due to inflation and the price crisis. It's the economy stupid, said Donald Trump's peer, Bill Clinton! The Democrats didn't understand the battle between the stomach and the mind, so they couldn't explain to Americans why the latter is as important as the former. The election turned into a debate about bills and fuel prices, and here Trump got the millions of votes that brought him back to power, while Harris and others only cried about January 6 and Hitler! What myopia!

Biden's emasculated foreign policy in the war in Ukraine and the Middle East made Trump's claim to be the bringer of world peace even stronger. But also of the war inside America, the rest of us would say!
In these elections, a light and fleeting ideological vision fell according to which the good will win in every circumstance, because it must be so and not otherwise, regardless of whether we help it win or not. There was a ambivalent and uncertain attitude embodied mostly in the position of President Biden, towards many big and small crises inside and outside America. So even when the economy was growing, even when gas was going down, even when jobs were being added by the millions, the average American couldn't perceive it because Trump's big megaphone regularly won out over old man Biden's monkish whisper. America chose an unchained bull over an aging politician and an uncharismatic woman who had spent four years in his shadow.
The American left, and apparently the European one after it, must rewrite the rule book in the face of the rising xenophobic and populist right. They must decide to finally accept that the world around them is no longer the first. It has changed since January 6, 2020 when the loser refused to accept defeat and led the janissaries to Washington. It has changed since extremist parties hide their exclusionary and divisive platforms under "sovereignty". It has changed since America elected a person convicted by the courts of sexual abuse and violation of the election law, in front of a prosecutor. A convict preparing to pardon himself by presidential decree as soon as he enters the Oval Office!
The American right that brought down the party of parent 1 and parent 2, in truly disgusting fashion, poses a concrete and strong threat to all the basic freedoms of a democracy, to freedom of expression, to abortion, to minority rights , the black population and immigrants. If Biden opened the gates to millions of illegal immigrants, the victorious right wing of Donald Trump is promising millions of deportations. So he is trying to cure a disease by killing the patient altogether. And this repressive formula for the organization of a great democratic society like the American one is being offered these hours as an example to all the neo-fascist rightists of Europe, to overthrow the political systems of the old continent which have produced the liberal and rich democracies that acquaintance today.
Donald Trump made an epicrisis of the American crisis, which in many respects is real and fair. But on the other hand, the prescription he offers for healing is an electroshock that takes on the diseases, viruses and bacteria of American society, killing even the patient who carries them. Even in times of dictatorship, there is no crime, the streets are kept clean and public peace is ensured. But that does not make dictatorships good. Trump has promised to be a dictator only on the first day of work. Let's see how it will turn out in the second one. Meanwhile, Milorad Dodik in Bosnia has been celebrating with the "Make America Great Again" hat on his head for two days!
