The scandal of the toxic waste has been clarified at least as to whose it is. The Durrës Prosecutor's Office has completed the first investigations into the cargo of the two ships that were blocked by Thailand and found that they are waste sold by the company "Kurum" as iron oxide to a company licensed for the export of waste.
We do not exclude the possibility that both the seller and the buyer knew what the waste really was, but at least on paper we have a sale declared as oxide waste, while it is furnace dust with a mixture of dangerous components, produced by the activity of "Kurum".
After the Ministry of Environment highlighted this fact, Kurum" hastened to refute it by playing with words and stating that they have not exported waste. They had actually sold them with a false declaration of content to an exporter.
Yesterday, in the alley below Berisha's window, the afternoon meeting was opened with a large monitor, on which the statement of "Kurum" and a long speech by Berisha accusing Duman for not investigating the scandal, based on Kurum's statement.
"Kurum" itself could not dare as much as Berisha. They made a statement at the beginning, but then when the Prosecutor's Office received the official statements of those who sold them the goods, they remained silent and are looking at their plight as to how to escape from this story. Their only invincible lawyer remains Berisha, who has started the judicial process from the window.
Now, for a big businessman to have respect for a former prime minister who made him a millionaire with a company, as is formally the case of Berisha with "Kurum" with four hydropower plants, makes sense. After all, it's gratitude for an opportunity that never comes.
But for a prime minister to have so much respect, for a businessman to whom he has given the honor of his life, is a little suspicious. He even takes care of her and 11 years after he did her the honor that nothing happens to her.
