Why is the "January 21" investigation the real catalyst for change in

The testimony of the President of the Republic Bamir Topi in SPAK on January 21 is truly the most important development so far. As it had never happened before, even though there were investigations by the prosecution to go that far.

In fact, it was nothing new, as it was already clear with Lulzim Basha that this investigation would go to the political chain of command, however, the essence is not here.

January 21, to this day, has been a political battle. Where one side, namely Berisha, has said that Edi Rama led the 4 citizens to murder, while the other side has demanded responsibility for the murders, as well as obstruction of the investigation. This battle has been fought not only politically but has gone all the way to the Supreme Court, which shamefully covered up the event, and only Strasbourg has opened the way for a reinvestigation.

However, the problem in the legal aspect has been stated explicitly, the facts are the testimonies and evidence as well, it is important that SPAK does the work to find the perpetrators of this monstrous crime.

The problem here is completely different, in the political aspect. In the Democratic Party, in the opposition, in what is called the Albanian right, the catharsis has been accomplished for a long time.

It is enough to watch all the shows held over the years where representatives of the Democratic Party do not deny criminal responsibility and demand that justice do its job.

However, the first to dot the "I" was the President of the Republic Bamir Topi, who provided excellent testimony in his book.

President Topi has clearly stated what happened and what he did to stop the tragedy, and then to bring the perpetrators to justice.

It was precisely for this reason that Sali Berisha and others close to him called Bamir Topi a "boulevard villain". A code known in the corridors of the DP as blackmail or a fine to leave this job. And Topi did not do it, even though he knew that it would have significant costs.

The documentary evidence in the book "Nocturne" is sufficient, however, the personal visit to SPAK by the head of state has another value. Both legal and documentary, but above all political.

Sali Berisha is clearly disturbed by this investigation and has declared a season of unrest, which has included everyone he calls his DP. But there are very few left. Because the most normal part of the DP was not complicit in the drama of January 21. From the statesmen, the politicians of the DP of the time, to the grassroots militants.

And in all likelihood, at least the full writing of the history of the tragedy of the murder by some Guard officers who fired 190 bullets at the citizens at the end of the protest will bring a new development. which above all, will be a human reflection of the politics of the DP. Which does not and has no reason to carry the great guilt of this tragedy on its shoulders.
