Will the return of the 'Molotov cocktail lovers' to Theth revive the

The disappointment over the abandonment of the "resistance fighters" of Theth for the party they have loved for 34 years was clearly visible.

After several days of silence over the operation in Theth, the Shkodra DP deputies finally went up to Dukagjin.

Although late, the head of the district, Luciano Boçi, together with Bardh Spahina, the former mayor, appeared on the square in front of the cameras, clashing with the police, where they returned to swearing with a live book, announcing to everyone that they "are alive and as they have been here for 34 years."

However, it was interesting that their return to join a part of the residents who have been rebelling there for days was late. Even very late. It seems there is no mystery about this, since there has been a lot of thought activity these days from official opposition people, who in a way show a kind of "political masochism".

What the DP has not swallowed is the loss in the administrative unit of Shala, which is centered precisely in Theth. Shala, once a municipality, has been an immovable bastion of the DP, where the victory was by a large margin. In the last elections, the DP lost, of course not by a margin of who knows what, but the numbers of resident voters are modest, as people have been leaving for years and years. On May 11, the SP received 388 votes in the administrative unit of Theth, while the DP received 259 votes. The difference is 129, which constitutes a development not so much numerical as political in this territory. In which 5 votes were received by the coalition of Lulzim Basha and 1 vote by the Lëvizja Bashke.

In the opposition networks, there was no hiding the boredom, frustration and discontent with the electorate of Theth. In other words, expressing the cliché logic: "Keep Rama now, he wanted him himself."

The disappointment at the abandonment of the "resistance fighters" of Theth for the party they have loved for 34 years was clearly visible. A somewhat cynical disappointment, staying at a distance and venting their anger on social media.

But everything changed after the Molotov cocktail on the small bridge of Theth, where even on Tirana televisions it turned into a "people's rebellion against the police". There were no people, but nevertheless, the opposition's media spies bombarded the networks with a Fadroma employee who spoke a southern dialect and, according to them, was "cursing the Dukagjins".

In a few hours, the old fable of "the South that hates the North" was drawn up, and it exploded in Theth. Two days later, Shkodra deputies went there, armed with the verbal Molotov cocktail of post-1997 language. "Uprising against those who want to kill and insult the people of Dukagjin."

But can putting your finger in the same hole of a 34-year-old horse bring back the opposition, not just in Theth and Dukagjin, but in the Shkodra region, and throughout the country?

Where the symbol and flag of reaction is either the Molotov cocktail or the "love" for Soviet weapons?

The Democratic Party and the entire opposition could have entered strongly into the debate started by Edi Rama in Theth. It was even a golden chance, together with the residents, but also with the councilors they have in the municipality, to go there and have their say. Even to stop the IMT's intervention with peaceful protests. By provoking a dialogue between the government and the citizens, in this case the opposition, in addition to being representative, also becomes a proposer of a way to solve the problem of illegality, the problem of the environment and the interaction of the government with the community.

Even starting the debate right in the municipal council and talking about the entire territory. Then giving its position on the action that has started nationwide and where businesses are quite frustrated after the demolitions. Here the opposition can and should play an important role, as it has a golden chance to take the initiative of public opinion.

But the "excitement" from the smell of the Molotov cocktail and the explosion of the house book in front of the cameras, polarizes the situation, not just in Theth, but everywhere. The residents of Theth and the old voters of the DP in Shkodra and everywhere, have abandoned their party, because it has run away from their problems, troubles, but also from their successes. Just as the solution is not to reopen the topic of north-south anger, especially today when the opposition would be interested in regaining those grounds that were taken away from them on May 11.

But all this opportunity or chance that has been opened up for the opposition is not worth it to Sali Berisha, who is interested in making as much noise as possible. To drown out his criminal and political troubles...
