Argentina-Spain final with innovation, break between halves could last up to 25

The World Cup final, which will take place on Sunday at the New York New Jersey stadium, is expected to bring a major innovation, with a musical spectacle during the break between parts, in the famous Super Bowl style.

According to reports, the show will last about 11 minutes and will feature Madonna, Shakira and the Korean group BTS as headliners.

FIFA sources say the break between halves is expected to last 20 to 25 minutes, although one option being considered is to maintain the standard 15-minute break, followed by the musical performance.

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) rules stipulate that the players' break in the first half should not exceed 15 minutes.

Even the Club World Cup final, held last year in the same stadium and organized by FIFA, had a 24-minute break, due to a concert with Coldplay, J Balvin, Doja Cat, Tems and Emmanuel Kelly.

Justin Bieber has been added to the Sunday show's lineup, while Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus will also take the stage, along with Coldplay. The show is curated by the band's vocalist, Chris Martin.

The World Cup final will kick off at 3:00 PM local time, while the closing ceremony will begin at 1:30 PM.
