If someone has no ideas, no certain political convictions, then when he enters politics he has no reference and he moves, is able to move in any direction, do any act that advances his completely personal interests. Political ideas, convictions are the reason and the only means that can make someone adhere to certain approaches and principles, to fight for something or for many things that are not his small or low personal interest.
Albanian politics has constantly suffered from people who do not have political ideas or do not carry these as internalized things that constitute a strong identity element for them. This has caused many people, deputies, prime ministers or ministers, former ministers or former prime ministers to appear sometimes as right wing sometimes as left wing, sometimes as social democrats sometimes as conservatives, sometimes as liberals sometimes as progressives, sometimes as communists and sometimes as anti-communists . Their incoherence has been and is monumental. For one thing, they are left-wing, for another, these people are right-wing. For one thing they are conservative and for another completely liberal.
This has caused politics, political debate and political action to be completely rampant, derailed, chaotic, aggressive, with vocabulary from the lowest, with insults and slander from the lowest. What guides them is only interest and no idea, no conviction that could limit them from behaving according to a certain moral or political principle that would be a consequence of these ideas.
What is known as the right in Albania, what is connected with or behind the right is more or less the Democratic Party. This party, this political formation is not only in a deep crisis. It has always been full of incoherence, full of serious lack of ideas, populated by politicians and political leaders who have never proven that they carry ideas, that they have a vocation and that they build their identity and behavior from these ideas .
The serious situation of the Democratic Party today comes precisely from this fact. This condition has been engendered and grown gradually until it has now exploded. The dire situation of the DP comes from its being under the control of people who act and are guided only by lust, only by appetite, only by small and low interest and by no political idea and no ideological conviction. The Pulpit movement launched in 2021 by Sali Berisha is the culmination of this approach, of this identity of the Democratic Party. Joining this movement of MP Gazmend Bardhi pushed the ideological emptiness and behavior led by lust or appetite one step higher. We are talking about the DP because it claimed from the beginning, as it should have done, that it was the bearer of the values of the right. We are talking about the DP because it can be the force that changes this exhausting trajectory for the country. The SP, the left (if we can use these labels since even the SP is no longer known what color it is) can never be the force that finds ways to avoid control by lust or appetite. The SP, the left, are the symbolism of lust.
The core of the right, the point where the ideas of the right originate, is about the belief that man can do very great harm, can destroy the basic liberties of others, can be driven by very bad impulses, can corrupt and tear apart important social and political institutions. This being so, then a power will be needed that will not allow man to do such damage, not to become a destroyer of freedoms and not to be guided by lust and appetite. This power, according to the right, cannot be the government, the political system or political power because this power would turn into tyranny. Government should be small, government should not have too much power, much less power that does not allow bad impulses, lusts or appetites to rule the people. Something very high would have this power, a much higher power, God's power would have it. People will fear God, they will restrain themselves, they will limit themselves out of fear of God.
From this premise, the idea of the right is born, and this idea shapes all right-wing political action and behavior.
From this angle, the right and those who believe in the right should see the ugly behavior in parliament of the group led by Sali Berisha and Gazmend Bardhi. There, personal desires and greed have simply erupted in the most brutal form.
Where is the self-restraint, where is the right conviction of self-restraint, of not cursing, of not slandering? Where the right is convinced that good triumphs and wins only by doing good, only by good example, only by sacrificing desires, and even personal needs. Where is the fear of God, where is the humility that this fear imposes? Those MPs have taken the roles of antagonists with Prime Minister Rama, not to prove that they are antagonists, but to be protagonists. In ancient Greece, in its grand theater, the first roles, the protagonists, in many cases to show this role, chose antagonism. So they acted as antagonists in the theater to be protagonists.
This is also done by the deputies of the Foltores movement, the deputies led by Bardhi and Berisha. They have never shown that they have ideas that lead them. They have never said what they think and that they do not compromise on the law on property, on law 7501. They have never said what they think about homosexual marriages and that they do not compromise on this issue. They have never said what they think about religious freedoms and that they do not compromise on religious freedoms. They have never said or shown that they do not compromise with the punishment of the crimes of communism, with the opening of the insurance files. They have never said that they have a political goal and vocation that guides their behavior, the departure from politics of people who come from positions in communism. They have never shown that the principle that no one is above the law is inviolable and sacred to them. On the contrary, they have shown that they want some powerful people not to be affected by the investigation and the law.
The opposition MPs grouped in Sali Berisha's movement will unfortunately increase the severity of their senseless and lustful behavior because they are clueless and, being clueless, they have acted in such a way that no one believes them. Being without ideas, they were guided by low interest, and this interest consumed them so badly that they joined an anti-historical, anti-logical movement like the Pulpit. The right is an ideal and no one can achieve or implement the ideal ideally, but as an ideal it is a goal, it must be a goal. Being a goal it makes possible the transfer of ideas and the creation of a tribal way of behavior and obviously the consent of the public.
