How could you win against Rama, with the same tired, worn, helpless face...

The electoral and information system is in total control of the government. Where with the help of the opposition that for daily benefits, forgets the future. The SP walks with a pencil in hand, like in Kuç. Total control over public administration and municipalities, with the help of idiotic decisions of the opposition then

There is no surprise in the results of May 11. Those who thought differently were short-sighted. Those who hoped differently were hopeless. Those who wanted something a little different (non-absolute government) like me felt it was utopia. Democracy without mechanisms that control and restrain, even judge and punish, is simply an ornament that costs millions per box and ballot.

Opposition weaker than the government

To go against the "regime" that has been dragging on for eight years, leaving pieces of the road, with the same tired, broken, ignorant face, not only does not bring either breath or inspiration, but on the contrary, despair, passivity, indifference and worse, a departure towards alternatives that provide opportunities. The opposition was divided, without a clear cause, without a convincing vision. The opposition did not know, nor could it, and perhaps with this offer of people it will not yet be able to bring and raise Hope. Reaction and revolt do not win alone without a clear, credible and convincing alternative structure.

Tired people want guarantees

They don't want change, simply as a rotation. Imagine a couple of villages, where the government's decisions directly affected them and they had been protesting for a long time, voted massively for the SP. Most of us, especially those outside Tirana, even outside the yellow line, don't vote for change, for ideas, for democracy and all those big words, but so as not to lose economic aid, salary, job, friend they have found or get a job. This is a good part of the population, "ideologically and intellectually depoliticized", which is the prey of those who are called patronageists. The rest of the population, tired and without trust in anyone, leaves free field to the commanded voters (elections are not won at the box, but before the vote). And what comes out? 40 percent vote, of these 70 percent are the votes that we have counted before voting day. So, it may not be a majority, but it gets the majority of those who vote.

The SP government is merged with the state.

The electoral and information system is under total control by the government. With the help of the opposition, which for daily benefits forgets the future. The Socialist Party walks with a pen in its hand, as in Kuç. Total control over public administration and municipalities, with the help of the idiotic decisions of the opposition at the time. Absolute control over economic resources, including the opposition's financiers. Comprehensive control of the police, allowing them to "do business with the opposition as well". Control over electoral commissions, why not even over opposition members in many areas outside Tirana. The media and the public voice are sometimes afraid, sometimes captured, sometimes twisted, sometimes turned, sometimes completely opposite, bringing a deformed public opinion.

So what is usually called a free vote, does not seem so free to us, but is inextricably linked to work, aid, benefits, the next day or the end of the month. People do not vote for obedience, but for survival.

The missing punishment turns the vote into a product labeled "This-this is from the PS"

The justice system can provide "justice"... after a year. Whose work is ruined! Let's not be hypocritical, the government buys time, buys votes, buys the future, and can fix your life. Agreed, the poor vote is bought more easily, where with 100 euros, although the euro has fallen and we are making it 200, a job, debt repayment, but also "dove" places that for six months, especially those far from Tirana where the annoying media does not reach you, make you rusty, by an unknown. The electoral machine of the SP with the patronage system at the center has turned the vote into a product with the label "This-this is the SP". Almost everything is allowed, as we have seen over the years, because there is no punishment.

They don't have to win over the SP, but defeat the system.

The result of May 11 was known. As much as I could, I warned back in 2017 how the elections would turn out one after the other if the DP is not reformed. I don't know what the opposition will do, but those who were satisfied with Berisha's defeat and destruction, as well as those who remained loyal to him, are equally guilty of the situation of democracy in Albania. They only have two years, or the small parties must become big very soon. They must not simply win against another party, with a program, with promises, with tik-tok and FB.
