The immortals!

The immortals!

This, then, is the supreme desire of the two atomic septuagenarians: not the dictatorship of the proletariat or Mother Russia, but 150 candles to celebrate in power with hearts still frozen, but brand new.

What would Xi Jinping, dressed as Mao, and Putin, dressed as Putin, talk about? Rockets, money, how to keep mocking Trump? Maybe, but the audio stolen from Tiananmen Square revealed that, like Elon Musk, they are obsessed with immortality, their own, of course, because a world with eight billion immortals would be forced to shut down due to a lack of places.

Putin introduced the topic, saying that with organ transplants, “the longer you live, the younger you become.” But Xi Jinping proved him right by pushing the existential point to 150 years old, noting that “today, at 70, you are still a child.” In fact, he enjoys parades of toy soldiers.

This, then, is the supreme desire of the two atomic septuagenarians: not the dictatorship of the proletariat or Mother Russia, but 150 candles to celebrate in power with hearts still frozen but brand new. An absolute monarchy becomes eternal, while the former president of the power considered to be in decline, the United States, was forced to resign due to obvious old age and the current one cannot hide the bruises on his hands.

Utopia dreams of a better world for everyone, but Xi and Putin's is a selfish utopia: it dreams of a world just for themselves, and without the array of illnesses that had until now made old age a not entirely desirable age.

"If only the young knew and the old could ," goes the old saying. Putin and Xi know and can do it. Or maybe they are just fooling themselves. / Adapted from "Pamphlet" by "Corriere della Sera"
