There is no concern about losing the elections several times, nor with the current situation the country is going through, nor with the great and long delay that is being caused to the name that will represent them as a candidate for the Municipality of Tirana.
In the DP, they are not upset about anything. Not even worried about a single thing. Or even angry about any particular element.
The lack of recognition of the elections is on the calendar. They are accompanied by joy in the cafes around the parliament, where they display their wealth and status. The impression of the current situation of the country is even less among them.
There is no concern about losing the elections several times, nor with the current situation the country is going through, nor with the great and long delay that is being caused to the name that will represent them as a candidate for the Municipality of Tirana.
They are faced with an SP electoral machine that has not only prepared the transition of the head of the Municipality of Tirana, but whose candidacy now seems to have begun work as the current and future mayor with almost no alternative.
In short, the DP has started the campaign very calmly and without any nerves. They are resigned, but more than that, with the delay of the candidacy and the alleged support for their non-political part, they seem to be "maintaining" the appearance of the endless weakening of their structures.
As if they had won the Tirana municipality several times in a row in these 35 years, as if they had formed a school of management and leadership in local government, today they have become a source of media that deals only superficially with Albanian realities. In fact, since 2019, local government with the spirit of the DP has lost strength.
At that time, under American pressure, one-way elections would continue and 770 thousand Albanians performed the ritual at the ballot boxes in the June 30 elections, where in the end only 21 percent of the total voter list was represented. It is understood that the SP voters performed the ritual, but the “blue” part began the erosion of power that continues to this day.
Today the opposition is not boycotting (although it only mentions a few words about the identity of Tirana and the model of the leaders of other municipalities) and today the elections have triumphed over the platforms of boycott and gossip about the electoral process, but the DP has no nerve. Despite several candidacies from the Blue camp offering themselves, others being identified as possibilities by Berisha and the campaign almost without opponents of the majority, the public is almost stunned by this unparalleled carelessness.
People, you don't have time, and even now you are on the verge of the margins! The DP seems fed up and comfortable with power, but more than anything discouraged by the election date, as they don't want to get involved. No to protests; no to any battle, which can openly show how ready they are for challenges; and then to the parliament, to show the Albanians how possible their future is.
So this great SP machine is swelling and swelling and it seems that the solution will come from them themselves with this saturation without any interference from the central or local government.
Anger as a moral fuel is lacking as an inspiration in the DP and will likely be difficult to revive in this mandate. This is the biggest concern for the public, not the endless delay of their candidacies.
