Two people arrested in Muriqan for undeclared drugs and money

Border Police Services at the Muriqan border crossing point have cracked down on two cases of illegality over the last 12 hours, as part of increased controls to prevent cross-border crimes.

According to the official announcement, during the checks at the entrance to Albania, the Crime Investigation specialists of the DVKM Shkodër initiated criminal proceedings at large for a Polish citizen, 49 years old, identified with the initials WC.

During the physical search, 30 thousand euros were found on him, undeclared, while he was carrying another 8 thousand euros in his handbag, also undeclared.

In another case, specialists from the Narcotics Investigation Section arrested two citizens in flagrante delicto, A. Sh., 42 years old, and EK, 32 years old, both residents of Tirana.

During the exit check of the Albanian territory, 8 bags of suspected cannabis, weighing approximately 4.2 kilograms, were discovered hidden in the vehicle they were traveling in, which was seized as material evidence.

"Detailed checks by the Border Police services. During the last 12 hours, 2 cases of illegality have been detected, in the field of drug trafficking and non-declaration of money and valuables.

About 4.2 kg of cannabis are seized, 2 citizens are arrested. 38,000 euros are seized, a 49-year-old man is prosecuted for possessing it and not declaring it at the border.

Following the work of the Border Police services at the Muriqan BCP, with the aim of preventing and cracking down on illegalities at the border, at the entrance to the Republic of Albania, 2 cases have been identified and cracked down on.

1. 2. Also, specialists from the Narcotics Investigation Section arrested citizens A. Sh., 42 years old, and EK, 32 years old, both residents of Tirana.

During the exit check, in the vehicle they were traveling in, the Muriqan BCP services found 8 bags of suspected cannabis hidden, weighing approximately 4.2 kg, which was seized as material evidence.

From the first investigative actions, it is suspected that the two citizens had purchased the narcotics in Germany.

"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodra, for further action," the police announced.
