A gun attack has shaken the city of Saranda this evening. The incident took place in the Gjashta area of Saranda and the victim was the owner of a gas station in the area.
The victim has been identified as Rexhep Ismaili, 66, who is also the president of the Saranda branch of the "Çamëria" association.
According to initial information, Ismail was shot with a gun and received a bullet in the head, which caused his immediate death. The victim is believed to have been in his business premises at the time of the attack.
According to sources, the first suspects were several people who confronted the victim and after a physical conflict, one of them fired a gun, while the bullet hit the 66-year-old in the head, killing him.
Meanwhile, images have been published from the site where this evening's assassination attempt took place in Saranda, in the Gjashtë area.
The circumstances and causes of the incident still remain unclear, while numerous police forces have arrived at the scene, surrounded the area and launched investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident and identify the perpetrators.
