An Albanian was arrested by the Italian police after a package with 10 kg of drugs arrived in his name.
Officers of the Guardia di Finanza of Como, during a road check aimed at combating illegal traffic, stopped a car with Spanish license plates in Appiano Gentile. There were three people in the vehicle, two Spaniards and one Croatian. Suspicious of their nervousness and the lack of luggage, the officers continued to search the vehicle, discovering inside it several grams of marijuana, around 28,500 euros in cash and a shipping bill for a package coming from Malaga to Legnano.
The Como Judicial Authority ordered a thorough investigation of the situation and requested the identification of the recipient of the package. Afterwards, the officers intercepted the shipment arriving in Italy by courier and in the latter's warehouses, after confirming the presence of narcotics with the help of dog units, they opened the package and found 10 kg of marijuana. With the authorization of the Prosecutor's Office of Como, the officers disguised themselves as couriers and organized a "controlled delivery".
The couriers went to the recipient's address indicated on the package, located in Legnano. Upon receiving the package, they arrested the Albanian recipient and seized the entire amount of drugs. Afterwards, the officers searched the Albanian's house, finding 20 grams of narcotics divided into packages and ready for sale, as well as packaging material, a digital scale, a diary, a smartphone, two SIM cards and 300 euros in cash. The arrested person of Albanian origin seems to live in Italy without exercising any work activity. By order of the Busto Arsizio Judicial Authority, that arrested person was sent to the Busto Arsizio prison.
