The Tirana Court has confiscated the assets of former official Alda Klosi and her ex-husband, including an apartment, a garage and an amount of 500 thousand euros.
The former senior official, who has been included as a declaration subject in the HIDACCI since 2016, has not declared her assets, which she does not justify with legal sources of income.
Confiscated assets:
– Monetary amount 368,000 lek, 15,600 dollars and 462,950 euros
– Apartment with usable area of 85.09 m2 with property number 6/572+1-35, ZK 8210, Vol. 42, Pg 127 property located in Tirana, owned by citizen AK; and
-Garage with a usable area of 14.06 m2, property located in Tirana, owned by citizen AK
Prosecutor's Office Announcement:
At the request of the Tirana Prosecution Office, the assets of citizen AK and her ex-husband are confiscated
At the request of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, the court confiscated the assets of citizen AK and her ex-husband, accused of the criminal offense of 'Refusal to declare, failure to declare, concealment or false declaration of assets, private interests of elected persons and public servants or of any other person who has a legal obligation to declare' provided for by article 257/a/2 of the Criminal Code.
From property proceeding no. 05, 2022, it resulted that the defendant/subject of the property investigation AK, who has been included as a declaration subject in the HIDAKCI since 2016, has not declared to this institution the property that does not justify it with legal sources of income.
From the analysis of the facts and the administered documentation it results that the real estate properties of the apartment and garage type, owned by her and by the related person, are assets not justified by legal income. These real estate properties were hidden and were not declared in the ILDKPI declarations by the investigated person AK.
In accordance with the above, as well as with Articles 3, 5, 7, 12/b, 14, 15 to 22, 23, 24, 28-38 and following, of Law No. 10192 dated 03/12/2009 “On the Prevention and Suppression of Organized Crime and Trafficking through Preventive Measures against Property”, as amended, and with Article 302 of the Code of Civil Procedure, at the request of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, the following assets were confiscated:
– The monetary amount of 368,000.00 (three hundred and sixty-eight thousand) Lekë, 15,600.00 (fifteen thousand and six hundred) USD American dollars, 462,950.00 (four hundred and sixty-two thousand and nine hundred and fifty) Euros, seized for the account of criminal proceedings no. 9220/2022 and cashed into the account of the Prosecutor's Office on 10.01.2023;
– Apartment with usable area of 85.09 m2 with property number 6/572+1-35, ZK 8210, Vol. 42, Pg 127 property located in Tirana, owned by citizen AK; and
-Garage with a usable area of 14.06 m2, property located in Tirana, owned by citizen AK
We recall that Alda Klosi was released from prison on April 4, after completing her sentence.
Klosi was sentenced by the court to 2 years and 6 months, where after the summary trial he had to spend 20 months in a prison. Meanwhile, after his release, he will remain under "House Arrest" for the second charge, that of "Money Laundering" until the prosecution decides after the deadline set by the court.
We recall that her nurse Rozeta Dobi was also found guilty and sentenced to 7 years in prison, with a reduced sentence of 4 years and 8 months.
Her son Javier Dobi was sentenced to 5 years in prison, where upon application for summary judgment he was sentenced to 3 years and 4 months.
Alda Klosi is the owner of the apartment from which sanitation worker Rozeta Dobi and her son Javier Dobi robbed an amount of approximately 120 thousand euros.
The theft at the former senior official's apartment occurred on December 15, 2022.
After reporting the theft to the police and conducting searches in the mother and son's apartment, approximately 405 thousand euros, 8,500 dollars, and gold accessories were found, which are also suspected of having been stolen from the cleaner Rozeta Dobi.
It was Klosi herself who filed the police report, claiming that the money belonged to a person close to her who was being treated for a serious illness.
The apartment was burglarized with the house cleaner's key, who took advantage of the fact that no one was in the apartment. After stealing the money, she and her son made a mess in the bedroom to hide their tracks.
All of this was done with the intention of staging a scheme to make it appear as if the apartment had been robbed by other perpetrators.
