Investigative actions have continued to clarify the circumstances of the accident that happened yesterday, as a result of which 8 citizens lost their lives, 7 of them immigrants from Pakistan).
The police have identified 3 citizens who allegedly cooperated with the driver of the vehicle to transport to Shkodra, against payment, 7 immigrants who intended to cross the border illegally.
Two of them have been captured and efforts are underway to capture the other (the organizer of this criminal activity).
" As a result of the investigative actions carried out to clarify the circumstances of the accident that happened yesterday, on the "Kelcyre-Përmet" road axis, as a result of which 8 citizens lost their lives, as well as based on the information provided by the police intelligence , in the framework of a proactive investigation to clarify the line of trafficking and smuggling of immigrants, it has been documented that the 7 citizens from Third Countries who lost their lives in this accident were being transported by the driver of this vehicle, from the Greek border to the border of Shkodra, against payment, with the aim of illegally crossing the border. From these actions, carried out by the structures of DVP Gjirokastër, in cooperation with the Traffic Sector in the Criminal Police Department in DPPSH and with the structures of DVP Shkodër, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office of Gjirokastra, it is suspected that the driver of the vehicle, citizen EB, was cooperating with 3 other citizens, for the transportation of 7 immigrants from Pakistan, aged 28-32, 3 of whom have been identified.
Following the actions for this case, the 3 citizens involved in this criminal activity were identified:
A. Gj., 24 years old and RD, 23 years old, both residents of Shkodër, who were handcuffed in cooperation with the services of DVP Shkodër;
SN, 23 years old, a resident of Shkodër, who was declared wanted, as he is suspected of having the role of organizer in this criminal activity. The work for the capture of this citizen continues.
Work continues to identify the other 4 immigrants who lost their lives in the accident.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Gjirokastër, for further actions. "- announced the police.
