The identity of the 4 victims, who lost their lives as a result of a "head-on" collision between a Red Cross ambulance and a bus with 47 children in the Ca' Gulino tunnel, on the "bypass" between Urbino and Fermignano, is revealed.
The Italian media reports that the victims are the doctor of Albanian origin, Sokol Hoxha, 42 years old, the nurse Cinzia Mariotti, 49 years old, and the driver Stefano Sabbatini, 59 years old.
The accident also killed the elderly patient, Alberto Serfilippi, Sokol Hoxha studied at the Marche Polytechnic.
In a touching message from the district health care advisor Filippo Saltamartini, it is said about doctor Hoxha that: "The health personnel who work in the ambulance risk their lives every day and put it at the service of patients. They are silent heroes of the day: today three of them fell in the line of duty."
"We must be grateful to all those who put themselves at the service of the community every day with courage and altruism", he concludes the message of condolence.
It is worth noting that 7 people were injured by the tragic accident.
