
The bomb alarm at the "Toptani" shopping center in Tirana turned out to be false.
After checks carried out by law enforcement and specialized structures, the police announce that no presence of explosives was found.
According to the official announcement, at around 8:10 PM, a security employee at this shopping center alerted authorities after receiving a threatening email message.
" Around 20:10, citizen A. D. notified the Tirana DVP operations room that a message had arrived in his email stating that a quantity of explosives had been placed in the shopping center where he works as a security chief, which would explode at 20:30 ," the police announced.
Immediately after the notification, State Police services, engineering forces and anti-terror structures arrived at the scene, which conducted detailed checks on the center's premises.
" Police, Engineer Forces and Anti-Territory services immediately went to the scene, inspected the center and found nothing illegal ," the statement said.
Authorities announce that investigations are continuing to identify the person who sent the message and to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
" The investigative group is working to identify the citizen who sent the email and to clarify the circumstances of the case ," the police announced.
The event caused alarm and immediate intervention by security structures, while resulting in no consequences for citizens.
