Sentenced to 13 years and 6 months in prison in Italy for drug trafficking and participation in criminal organizations, the 46-year-old woman is arrested in Durrës.
The codenamed "Arachne" operation, carried out by the Durrës Police, has led to the capture of Edisnarda (alias Edisnajda) Shapka, wanted by Italian authorities.
She was arrested following a national and international search for the execution of the sentence given by the Bologna Court of Appeal. The Durrës Court has set the security measure "Arrest in prison" for the citizen in question.
"The operational services of the Durrës Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with those of the Durrës Police Commissariat, in continuation of the work to locate and arrest citizens declared nationally and internationally wanted, have finalized another operation for this purpose.
"Based on the information received, within the framework of the coded operation "Arachne", the wanted citizen, Edisnarda (alias Edisnajda) Shapka, 46 years old, resident of Durrës, was located and arrested," an official Police announcement states.
The Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Durres, with decision no. 169, dated 27.09.2025, has decided to impose the security measure "Arrest in prison", provided for by article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, for this citizen, in order to recognize and execute the criminal decision of the Court of Appeal of Bologna, Italy, of 2020, on the basis of which the citizen Edisnarda (alias Edisnajda) Shapka was sentenced to 13 years and 6 months of imprisonment, for the criminal offenses "Criminal organization" and "Trafficking in narcotics".
