The chief of police of the prison of Drenova has fallen into handcuffs this evening.
According to information, Mariglen Kadiu has been exercising the same function in Peqin prison for years.
It is suspected that he was arrested because of a case that belongs to this institution. The suspicions are that it may be related to the murder that took place in Peqin prison.
He was placed under house arrest by the court. Kadiu took the position of chief of police in IEVP Drenovë about 8 months ago, transferring from Beijing. Official information is awaited from SHKB regarding the case.
We recall that on December 15, inside the Peqin prison, Arben Lleshi was killed. He was executed with a pistol by another convict, Sokol Mjacaj. As a result of the incident, Indrit Shaqja was also injured, who is suspected, among other things, of collaborating with Mjacaj for the murder of Lleshi.
In connection with this event, the commanding director Kamber Hoxha and 10 of his subordinates were also imprisoned for abuse of office.
