The Spanish police have arrested two Albanian citizens, who are suspected of being the leaders of a gang involved in the robbery of over 150 houses.
Two Albanians were stopped at the Prat airport in Barcelona, while they were waiting for the plane to come to Albania.
Authorities found jewelry, money and other stolen items in the suitcases that the two Albanians had with them.
It is reported that the other members of the criminal group, who have been arrested, are of Dominican, Pakistani and Spanish nationality.
From the investigations so far, it appears that thieves have robbed more than 150 houses during the last months, and the authorities have found stolen objects worth 600,000 euros.
They regularly left Barcelona, where they lived, and traveled to rural areas robbing 3 to 4 houses a day.
The houses they mainly robbed were located in Aragón, La Rioja, Castilla y León, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia.
