
A 25-year-old French man was arrested by the Tirana police after being accused of computer fraud.
The young man is accused of making online purchases with fake credit cards and making various payments in financial institutions operating in our country.
The police seized 1 car, 2 mobile phones, 1 laptop and over 400 euros.
"The Section for the Investigation of Cyber Fraud, in cooperation with the Special Force for Special Operations and Research and the Sector of the Special Force "Eagle", after a genuine investigative work, has organized and finalized the coded police operation "Virtual shade".
During this operation, citizen LG, 25 years old, resident in France, was detained for the criminal offense of "Computer Fraud", provided by Article 143/bi of the Criminal Code.
From the investigative actions, it is suspected that this citizen, during his stay in the city of Tirana, through virtual cards, tried to make purchases and make various payments, in various financial institutions that operate our country.
As material evidence, 1 vehicle, 2 mobile phones, 1 laptop and 420 euros were seized.
Work continues to identify other citizens involved in this criminal activity.
The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
