72-year-old Sheqere Zeko has died after falling from the terrace of the Nursing Home in Gjirokastër. The news has been confirmed by the Fier Hospital, while it is learned that the elderly woman arrived at the trauma ward without any signs of life.
It is reported that the incident occurred at noon today, when the 72-year-old was standing on the terrace of the asylum and while contemplating nature, she fell from a height of about 7 meters. Zeko suffered serious injuries to her body, including fractures in her shoulder and leg.
Initially, the elderly woman was transported by ambulance to the Gjirokastra Regional Hospital, where she underwent medical examinations. According to hospital sources, in the first moments her health condition was considered stable and out of danger to her life.
However, about an hour later, her condition worsened, prompting doctors to transfer the elderly woman for more specialized treatment to the Fier Memorial Hospital. Unfortunately, the 72-year-old died during transportation to this hospital.
