In the court session for the murder of businessman Çajup Selimi, Ahmet Abedini, the father of Erisjano Abedini and the brother of Bujar Abedini, both accused by SPAK of involvement in this crime, testified.
During his testimony in court, Abedin admitted that he had conflicts with Selim, claiming that the victim made anonymous phone calls to his wife at all hours of the day and night.
He indicated that a lawsuit had been filed in court regarding this situation and an agreement had then been reached so that the parties would no longer clash.
"That day I was at work, in the afternoon I went to Gjirokastra, I had hospitalized my mother. We had the same business activity, we sold construction materials. I have two stores. I work in one, my wife works in the other. I had conflicts with Çajup because he made anonymous phone calls to my daughter-in-law at all hours of the day or night. We also had verbal conflicts and a couple of times he beat up his son, Elisjano. He would ring his phone, non-stop, I had had it for two years. We told him not to ring his phone. We even went to court about this matter. The daughter-in-law had filed a lawsuit against him. It had been 5-6 months since they had made an agreement with the police that they would not have conflicts," he says.
According to the witness, he was convinced that the calls were coming from Çajup Selimi.
"I want to make the calls, he said. His wife's phone would ring, at all hours of the day. Sometimes not anonymously. He would send her messages. He would harass his wife. She would tell him not to call anymore. He wouldn't answer," the witness says.
Ahmet Abedini also stated that his brother had not been aware of these calls. He also described the moment he learned about Selim's murder.
"My brother was not aware of the phone calls he was making to his wife. None of the brothers knew. At 12:00 at night I found out that Çajupi had been killed. I went to the police station, they said come on, I asked them 10 times what you have, they didn't tell me. At the police station they told me that he had been killed. I told them that I had been on the streets, I had taken my mother to the hospital. I could have had Bujar for 10 days without seeing him. My mother was staying with Bujar, but I accompanied him to the hospital because he had livestock, he was a shepherd. Erisjano was in Tirana, he came after 3-4 days. That night the police looked for him, but then they called the bride's phone and said that Erisjano was in Tirana. We didn't go to his funeral because I was at the police station," said the witness.
