
In the space of a month, 3 children have lost their lives in hospitals across the country. Today, a 13-year-old boy passed away in Durrës hospital, after a serious health condition.
According to sources close to the doctors, the child was intubated due to serious health complications and, despite efforts, could not be transported to the Tirana hospital for further treatment.
Two weeks ago, a 6-year-old child from Lushnja lost his life. The little one, Aleksandër Rustani, arrived at the hospital at 2:20 p.m. with the ambulance from the Divjakë health center.
The minor was accompanied by his grandfather, who stated that the child had been ill with a fever and the flu virus 5 days earlier. He had visited the little one at the health center in the village of Shën e Premte in Divjaka, where he received treatment for 5 days.
After 5 days of treatment at home, the child did not improve, he had diarrhea and vomiting, and his grandfather took him to the Divjaka municipality health center. Seeing the child's serious condition, the doctor urgently sent him to the Lushnja hospital. The latter sent him to Tirana, but he died as soon as he got into the ambulance.
Meanwhile, on January 8, Leo Sadiku, 12 years old from the village of Pocestë i Maliqi, passed away at the University Hospital Center of Tirana. The minor had been transported the day before in serious condition from Korça Hospital to the Pediatrics of the University Hospital Center with high blood pressure, high blood sugar, vomiting and fever. The University Hospital Center officially said that the patient was diagnosed with acute myocarditis, a rare and dangerous disease, which is associated with a high mortality rate. Despite maximum care and treatments performed according to medical protocols, the patient's death was impossible to prevent.
