Police in Korça have identified two girls suspected of being responsible for an Instagram page where intimate photos, videos, and information about teenagers were published with derogatory language.
It is suspected that two underage girls are responsible for this page. Further measures are expected to be taken by the police against the two underage girls.
For three days, the teenagers of Korça were terrorized by an "Instagram" page, which bullied, denigrated, and published pornographic material about them.
Following a complaint made by a security officer at one of the Korça high schools, the Cybercrime Sector at the General Directorate of the State Police launched investigations into the case and the identification of the administrators of the page.
The anonymous administrators of the site, whose name was derogatory, targeted high school students and even 9th graders in the city. Some of the teenagers aged 14-18 who were targeted said that the site has existed for several years and has been opened and closed periodically.
According to them, unlike other times, now, in addition to posts with names and surnames with derogatory content, there have also been videos and photos with pornographic content.
In the last 3 days alone, there have been more than 20 teenagers harmed by cyberattacks through this site, which has now been shut down.
"Thanks to the in-depth investigations of experts from the Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes, as well as close cooperation with the international companies Meta INC and Google INC, it was possible to obtain the necessary evidence in a short time, enabling the continuation of the investigations and the complete clarification of the event. This cooperation has been vital in identifying and detaining the perpetrators, as well as in collecting evidence that will assist in the justice process. From the intensive investigation, it was possible to identify and arrest two citizens, for the criminal offense of "Pornography with minors", provided for by article 117/2 of the Criminal Code, who were involved in this criminal activity: PM, who was the administrator of the "laviret e Korças" profile on Instagram. EP, who has been identified as the person responsible for the "Tellonym" application, linked to the Instagram profile ", the Police announce.
