A mega anti-drug operation by Eurojust, the Florence Prosecutor's Office and SPAK led to the destruction of an international cocaine distribution network in Europe, the majority of which were Albanians.
As part of the "Muratori" operation, which is still ongoing, 83 arrest warrants were issued in several countries, such as Italy, Spain and the Netherlands, countries where criminal activity has developed, and hundreds of bank accounts of drug lords were seized.
Footage of the operation released by Italian police shows the various forms used by traffickers to hide the narcotics, from grass houses to bunkers.
During the investigations, bunkers for hiding narcotics were discovered, significant amounts of drugs such as cocaine, heroin, hashish and marijuana were seized, as well as firearms.
The operation was also carried out in Albania under the direction of SPAK prosecutor Vladimir Mara.
