Video has been released of Altin Ndoci escaping from Durres hospital and speeding away from the parking lot. The video, provided by Anila Hoxha, shows Ndoci running away, while a police officer tries to chase him.
We recall that the incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, when Altin Ndoci was accompanied by two police officers to the infectious disease ward along with another convict. While awaiting a medical examination, he asked to go to the toilet and, as soon as he came out, he suddenly hit the officer guarding him, taking advantage of the moment to quickly leave. A black Audi vehicle was waiting for him in the parking lot, in which Ndoci left.
The officer who followed him fired his service weapon at the ground, but the bullet ricocheted and ended up on the stairs of the Infectious Diseases ward.
Preliminary investigations have shown that during the escort, safe prison police protocols were not respected, especially regarding the number of officers who should accompany detained or convicted persons during medical visits.
