A serious event happened in the USA just before the turn of the year, where the 4 members of the Morgan family were found murdered in their home in Clarkstown, on the outskirts of New York City.
ClarkstoWn police reported Saturday that New City resident who was a sergeant with the Bronxville Police Department Bronxville Police Sgt Watson Morgan, 49, apparently killed his wife, Ornela, 43 (from Albania) and sons Liam, 10 and Gabriel, 12 years old. Police believe he then killed himself.
The four bodies were discovered by New York police shortly after midnight Friday at the family's New City home after Morgan failed to show up for his evening shift at the Bronxville Police Department.
The community in Clarkstown is in awe as everyone describes the Morgan family as a model family with exemplary children and devoted parents.
"Mr. Watson Morgan was employed as a sergeant with the Bronxville (NY) Police Department. At this stage of the investigation it is believed that Watson killed his wife and two children, before killing himself with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A handgun was found at the scene. This investigation is an isolated incident and the public is not at risk," police said in a statement.
Watson, 49, began his career with the New York Police Department in 2000 before joining the force in Bronxville seven years later. He was promoted to sergeant in 2016.
According to US media citing a school official, both boys were active in Boy Scouts and youth sports, well-liked and good students. He said the family had been very involved in school and community activities. Liam was in fifth grade at Laurel Plains Elementary in New City; Gabe was a seventh grader at Felix Festa Middle School in West Nyack. Ornela Morgan was a high school teacher in the Bronx.
The Clarkstown Police Department – Detective Bureau advises that they will continue to investigate and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to provide it to police.
