An incident occurred this afternoon in Kukës, where a traffic officer was severely assaulted by several people.
The incident is suspected to have occurred in the line of duty, and it is learned that several people approached the apartment and raped him. The officer was transported to the hospital, where he is receiving treatment for the multiple wounds he sustained.
It is suspected that the incident is related to duty and that the perpetrators of the attack on the police officer are people whom he stopped a few days ago while on duty, while they were driving a vehicle.
Police have identified and announced a search for 1 person.
"Around 17:00, Inspector QD, a Traffic Police employee at the Kukës DVP, announced that on the road to the village of Pobreg, he had a physical conflict with several people due to his duty.
The Police Officer is currently filing a report with the Judicial Police Officer of the Prosecution Office. The first actions identified one of the persons the Police Officer had argued with on duty the day before.
The officers of the Judicial Police of the Prosecution Office, together with the investigative group, are working to identify other persons, clarify and fully legally document the event.
Meanwhile, the Police services are conducting checks to capture the person identified by the Police," the police announced.
