Six Albanians, who were caught with a cannabis farm, built inside an abandoned house in England, have been sentenced to prison.
Alitor Deda, 30 years old, Andi Teta, 33 years old, and Ali Qerfozi, 42 years old, were each sentenced to 24 months in prison; Erijon Gjoka, 21 years old, was given 18 months; Edison Markeci, 21, and Augustin Mark, 36, were each jailed for 16 months after being sentenced at Leeds Crown Court.
According to the investigation, the cannabis farm was run by Albanians in the form of an organized criminal group.
They were caught on December 4 last year at Moorfield House, in Fieldhouse Walk, Moortown. Police found 811 cannabis plants, estimated to produce 44kg of the narcotic, worth up to £446,000.
At the farm, sophisticated drug cultivation tools were also found, such as high-powered lamps, timers, and even weapons, including baseball bats and machetes. These devices were worth 45 thousand pounds. The Albanians were arrested at the scene and accused of cannabis production.
