"We want 100 thousand euros", the Albanians take their compatriot

Spanish police have freed an Albanian man who was being held hostage in a house in Calpe, while his captors demanded a ransom of 100,000 euros within two days or they would end his life.

The sources indicate that the persons involved and the victims were of Albanian nationality and that the motive for the kidnapping could have been a settlement of accounts.

The kidnappers wanted the money for a failed "business" in which they had been defrauded by a third person. They wanted the victim to pay them the lost money. The operation resulted in the detention of 5 people, although they were released with precautionary measures after being brought before the court in Dénia.

The operation was called "Come" and in it, the agents of the Guardia Civil released the 24-year-old Albanian. The kidnappers contacted the victim's partner by video call, asking her for the ransom, while threatening to kill the hostage. With all the information gathered, the police verified that the place where the victim was kept was a house in Kalp. Due to the seriousness of the threats, as the time set by the kidnappers was reaching its limit, the agents entered the house where the victim was located, where he was in good condition.

During the search of the apartment, the police managed to arrest 3 of the perpetrators, along with several knives with which they threatened the victim. 2 other perpetrators were arrested a few minutes later near the house, hiding in a van.
The arrested persons, who are accused of the criminal offense of kidnapping, were placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction number 2 of Denia, which decreed the release of the arrested persons with the appointment of security measures.
