A serious incident has been recorded in Italy, as an Albanian citizen has lost his life after being electrocuted by the Carabinieri. The incident took place in Sant'Olcese, in the hills above Genoa, and the victim is a 47-year-old man.
Investigators believe the blows may have caused the man to go into cardiac arrest. Prosecutor Paola Calleri will open a case of involuntary manslaughter in the coming hours and order an autopsy.
According to current reconstructions, the carabinieri were called by the man's neighbors, who had heard screams and loud noises coming from the apartment. Two patrol cars arrived at the scene and found the 47-year-old man in a very agitated state, most likely drunk. At that moment, one of the officers fired an electric gun, which hit both the man and a colleague. He fired again, but missed a second time.
According to initial reports, the electric shock was then passed to a second police officer, who shot the Albanian. When emergency personnel, who were called immediately, arrived, they could only confirm his death.
