A 48-year-old man was arrested by the police in Shkodër, after he tried to kill his ex-father-in-law by hitting him with a car.

The police announce that they were initially informed about the accident of a 68-year-old man, who was riding a bicycle. The elderly man was in the bicycle lane when he was hit by the vehicle. But after the investigations, it turned out that the driver of the car was his ex-son-in-law, citizen Ervin Čeka, 48 years old.

According to the police, he deliberately ran over the elderly man, who fortunately received only minor injuries. The 48-year-old is charged with the criminal offense of "premeditated murder", pending trial. 

" The services of the Shkodër Police Station, immediately after receiving the notification that a citizen had collided with the vehicle he was driving, the bicycle that a 68-year-old man was riding, in the dedicated lane, immediately started investigative actions to clarify the circumstances of the case, identification and capture of the driver of the vehicle.

At the end of the actions, the crime investigation specialists of the Shkodër Police Station arrested the citizen in the act: E. Ç., 48 years old, resident of Shkodër, for the criminal offense of "premeditated murder", pending trial. 

This citizen, on 02.03.2024, on "Marin Bicikemi" street, it is suspected that due to weak motives, with the vehicle he was driving, he deliberately crashed into the bicycle he was riding in the bicycle lane, his former father-in-law , the AU citizen, who is out of danger for life.

The vehicle driven by citizen E. Ç. was seized as material evidence. 

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Shkodër, for further actions ," the police announced.
