
The Court of Appeal in Tirana has left 23 people who were arrested as part of the operation "Tempulli 2" in jail.
The 23 arrested appealed the Court's decision to request a milder security measure, but this was not accepted.
The appeal has changed the security measure from "prison arrest" to "house arrest" only for 9 arrestees, while two others have been given a mandatory appearance measure.
These decisions were taken this Saturday by judge Edlira Petri.
"The Section for Narcotics Investigation in the Local Police Directorate of Tirana, within the framework of the operation "Tempulli", had information about the criminal activity of "Production and sale of narcotics", in which several citizens have been implicated. Based on the data obtained during the operation, it results that the above citizens deal with the criminal activity of distributing narcotic substances of the type Cocaine and Heroin and Cannabis Sattiva, in the city of Tirana, these citizens know and cooperate with each other and for committing of criminal activity.
Following this operation, at the request of the prosecutor of the Court of First Instance of Tirana General Jurisdiction, the measure of personal security "arrest in prison", in absentia, has been set for 62 persons under investigation", it is stated in the announcement of the Court of Appeals.
