Strong emotions accompanied the helicopter transport of police officer Edison Adri to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, where he will receive specialized treatment after being injured in the line of duty.
The footage shows the pain and concern of his colleagues, while one of the officers cannot hide his pain and bursts into tears. The 36-year-old's family members are also shocked, as they watch him through tears in one of the most difficult moments for them.
Adri's injury occurred during a police operation to arrest Violand Braçellari, 43, sentenced to 10 years in prison for drug trafficking. During the intervention of law enforcement, the suspect opened fire on the police, causing a clash with serious consequences.
The attack killed the "Eagle" Special Forces operative, Enea Mekolli, while Braçellari was injured and later arrested by the police.
Meanwhile, doctors are closely monitoring the health condition of Edison Adri, who has been transferred to the capital for more advanced medical care.
