Security cameras filmed the moment of execution on the evening of August 18 in the Agios Panteleimonas area.
New details have emerged from the execution of 47-year-old Albanian Artur Bashimi alias Turabi in Greece.
According to Greek media, it is learned that Bashimi is a person known to Greek authorities, as he has been involved in drug trafficking and robbery. Security cameras filmed the moment of execution on the evening of August 18 in the Agios Panteleimonas area.
Referring to the footage, the perpetrator is suspected of being on a motorbike, dressed in black and wearing a motorbike helmet. He left the vehicle, approached the 47-year-old Albanian and shot him in the head with a bullet, then fled the scene without leaving any trace.
Artur Bashimi was arrested in February 2022 as part of a criminal group that committed thefts on public transport. He was later arrested again in April 2024, also as a member of a criminal group that committed thefts in Greece.
Meanwhile, the Greek media "Skai" writes that Artur Bashimi turns out to be the brother of 38-year-old Marsel Bashimi alias Marsel Shkurtaj alias Marsel Gozhita, a person with serious criminal records in Greece and Albania. Marsel Bashimi was arrested in July 2022 along with Bledar Jambelli and Kristaq Leci, as perpetrators of a serious incident involving the use of weapons in Greece. Jambelli and Leci are accused in Albania as perpetrators of the murder of Commissioner Artan Cuku.

November 2014 – arrested for the violent robbery of a 20-year-old woman in Lazarat, from whom, at knifepoint, he took her mobile phone.
In Greece:
14.06.2007 – arrested by the 2nd Section of the Filat Border Police for violating Law 3386/05 “On Foreigners”
16.07.2009 – was arrested by the Economic Crimes Section of the Athens Security, along with 9 other people, accused of “secret theft and robbery with collaboration, participation in a criminal organization, possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute and violation of the law on foreigners”.
26.08.2013 – arrested by the Trikala Security Section for the purpose of deportation, as he was considered dangerous to public order and did not have legal residence documents.
04.08.2019 – a criminal complaint was filed by the Agios Panteleimon Police Station for “forgery of an identity document”, after presenting a document of dubious origin. On 11.08.2019, he was arrested for violating the Law “On Weapons”, after a pistol and a folding knife were found on him.
27.08.2021 – was prosecuted by the Agios Panteleimon Commissariat for violating the "On Weapons" law, after throwing a folding knife into a trash can on Mihail Voda Street.
21.01.2022 – he was prosecuted again for violating the "Weapons" law, after a knife was found in his possession.
10.02.2022 – was prosecuted by the Athens Security Directorate for "attempted murder with a weapon" and "violence against justice officials and other persons", after injuring someone with a knife and attacking police officers after a conflict to avoid arrest.
11.02.2022 – his name was included in a file for a criminal organization with 41 members (30 of whom were arrested), "who committed daily thefts of wallets and mobile phones at metro stations and on bus lines."
