A 45-year-old Albanian wanted by the Italian authorities was arrested in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
The Albanian has not been identified, but according to the authorities, he and his associates were distributing drugs on the outskirts of Turin. The police report that the group trafficked cocaine, hashish and marijuana.
Carabinieri investigators, thanks to the International Police Cooperation Service, tracked him down and arrested him in Dubai, also confiscating a car suspected to have come from illegal activity.
Investigations carried out by the Carabinieri of the Rivoli Carabinieri company operative unit had led to two pre-trial detentions on July 4, while a third member of the gang was arrested a few days later. During the investigations, 17.5 kilograms of drugs were seized. Other arrests were ordered by the investigating judge of the Turin court, in the province of Terni, in Albania and Spain.
Investigations revealed that drugs were hidden inside the nurseries and that deliveries to customers were made directly to homes, as a delivery service. Authorities revealed that in 15 months there had been a total of 456 drug sales in both the Piedmontese capital and the municipalities of Alpignano, Collegno, Grugliasco, Rivoli and Settimo Torinese, making five red-handed arrests possible.
