This is how Hygerta Meta appeared before the investigators as she confessed in detail how she committed the murder of Pëllumb Meta's father.
In the testimony given to the investigators, the 19-year-old woman does not hide the grudge she accumulated against her father, whom she killed with his working weapon.
The hatred that ended in tragedy, according to her, has its "roots" since childhood. As she confessed, the victim, Pëllumb Meta, was a very authoritative head of the family and every decision in the family was made by him alone, not accepting anyone else's opinion.
The young woman confessed that the incident happened after another fight with her father, after the latter had made the decision to marry her even though she did not agree.
The whole event, according to her testimony, happened in the cattle shed, where with a well-thought-out plan, she shot her father with a firearm. After the crime, he wrapped her in a sheet, then bandages, and finally a bag. She says that she threw the crime weapon by the sea.
Hygerta Meta, 19 years old, was handcuffed by the blue uniforms of Durrës as the main suspect for her father's murder. The serious event shocked the entire public opinion, as the chronology of the crime still hides a lot of mystery on how the murder could have been committed.
Denunciation as missing
On February 13, the son of the murdered head of the family appeared before the blue uniforms to ask for help in finding his father. Pellumb Meta had lost contact with his family and according to the 25-year-old, no one had any information about his fate.
Police investigations
For at least 10 days, the victim was missing, while the police were looking for him. The lack of search results prompted the investigation team to expand and deepen the investigations, including the family itself. After a detailed investigation, the investigative team found the lifeless body of the 50-year-old. With gunshot wounds, Pëllumb Meta was buried in the yard of his apartment, very close to the family that was looking for him.

She has confessed to the crime, showing no signs of remorse and never admitting that she was helped by someone else in committing the murder. The constant conflicts in the family, the authoritarian behavior of the father and the insistence on marrying her without approval, were the reasons listed by the teenager for the serious crime. She returned accompanied by blue uniforms to the scene to once again show the dynamics of the murder, as in the footage she appears completely calm in front of the pit where she buried her father.
"I am happy that I took this job and I do not regret that I killed him. He has tortured us and blackened our lives. Mom and I never talked in the family. The father spoke and decided about everything. He never asked us what we wanted. When he made the decision about my marriage, that's where the end came. He didn't listen to what I wanted. I harbored a hatred for a long time. On the day of the event, we did not conflict at all. I took the gun Dad used when he went to work as a guard and shot him inside the cattle shed. After the crime, I wrapped him in a sheet, then a bandage and finally a bag. I threw the gun by the sea," she declared.
Doubts on the persons involved
After revealing the incident, the police exhumed the body of the 50-year-old man, who is expected to undergo a forensic examination. The body appears to be the only evidence of this event, as the crime weapon has not yet been recovered by investigators. Hygerta stated that he threw the gun by the sea, denying that he was helped by someone else. However, she emphasized that at the time of the crime she did not have a conflict with her father, but only "emptied the gun" along with the bullets towards her father. The 19-year-old's plan to "get rid of" her father seems well-thought-out, as it took investigators days to uncover the incident. Physically it seems quite difficult for a young girl to kill and then drag her father's body, digging a hole and burying him. All this scene in the courtyard of the apartment, leaving no evidence behind and creating no doubt among the family members. The investigations will include other people to shed light on the mystery of this event.
Evidence of relatives
Relatives of the family were shocked by this crime.
They described the girl as calm, as they did not hide their surprise or suspicion that the girl could be the protagonist of such a scenario. According to them, she was kind and very wise, so she had never shown signs of aggression. It is not buried far away, it is inside the yard", he said.
