Two Albanians have fallen into the hands of the Swiss police, after being caught with drugs. The arrest took place in Romont, Switzerland.
They are in custody in connection with the discovery of half a ton of drugs at the Nespresso factory, reports the Swiss Albanian-language newspaper Le Canton27ch.
The Basel Public Prosecutor's Office has identified two suspects in connection with the extraordinary seizure of cocaine at the Nespresso factory in Romont in 2022. They are two Albanians located in the north of Italy. The two Albanians and one other person tried in vain to get the drugs before they were caught by the police. One of them was extradited from Italy to Switzerland.
We recall this unusual discovery: 500 kg of white powder, hidden in a container of coffee that arrived from Brazil via Antwerp. Four months later, in September 2022, the Friborg Public Prosecutor's Office announced that it was suspending the investigation due to a lack of results. Investigators have not been able to identify the persons involved in this drug trafficking.
