Five protesters, who were arrested after a protest called by the opposition, in connection with violent acts and the throwing of Molotov cocktails, have been released by the Court of Appeal, while earlier the Tirana Court had imposed the security measure of 'prison arrest'.
Thus, after the Appeals Court's decision, Klemend Çuçka, Bujar Tusha, Henri Shapllo, Mirvet Toçilla and Sem Bici will leave the cells, as the new measure against them is "compulsory appearance".
They were arrested during the April 17 protest, when the police made a surprise intervention, catching a significant portion of those considered the "fire group" in the protests called by the DP off guard.
The arrested spent about 3 weeks in prison on charges of "Opposing a public order officer", "Disturbing public order and peace", "Unauthorized possession of explosive weapons and ammunition."
For the same protest, the police also announced the prosecution of a DP MP for the criminal offense of "Organizing and participating in illegal gatherings and demonstrations."
